Amalgam Blogs: Deadshot vs Bullseye
“Fundamentally the marksman aims at himself” -D.T. Suzuki
Sight is something we people take for granted. About 80% of the information we process is via sight. This is up to 36,000 pieces of info a day, just through our eyes. However while some underestimate this ability, these two mercenaries not only utilize this but make it their deadliest weapon, making them the best marksmen in all of comics. Lethal, deadly, and known for their impeccable aim, the world of Marvel and DC have some notable warriors but none as precise as these two hitmen for hire. In a battle of “Training vs Talent” who will come out on top; The Suicide Squad’s Scleral Sniper or the Daredevil’s Target-clad Trapshooting Terrorizer? Take aim for this DEATH BATTLE!
Before We Begin…
We’ll be taking both Deadshot and Bullseye from their original comic histories, leaving Bullseye the Earth-616 continuity and the many ages of DC through Infinite Crisis for Deadshot.
Lastly, thank you to the following blogs for information relevant here
Background
Deadshot
“That's yer problem, lady. You believe people can be cured, be made healthy, be made normal -- that they can be saved. That they should be saved. But maybe the only way to cure some people is with a bullet between the eyes.”
Killing. Money. Death. No one should ever receive a childhood as cruel as to witness these three things, but for Floyd Lawton, it all seemed to happen overnight. His father, George Lawton worked in real estate and his mother, Genevieve Lawton was from a long line of wealthy bankers. Floyd’s brother Eddie got the prince treatment, while Floyd was looked down upon, though he still looked up to his brother. Genevieve was also on the receiving end of George’s cruelty and abuse, and enough was enough. Genevieve wanted her two sons to kill their father in cold blood. But Floyd didn’t want to solve his problems that way, and tried to warn his father, but Eddie prevented him from doing so by locking him in the boathouse. By the time he broke out and grabbed the hunting rifle, Eddie had his father paralyzed and was ready to kill him. Floyd tried to disarm Eddie without being seen by hiding in a tree, but the branch he was standing on snapped, and he accidentally killed his brother with a misplaced shot. Luckily, the family’s money was used to cover up this incident to avoid shame to the family name. After that night, Floyd made two promises to himself; never miss again, and to kill his father the next time they crossed paths.
After some time passed, Lawton resurfaced in Gotham City, posing as a playboy vigilante that temporarily replaced Batman before the Caped Crusader figured out who Lawton truly is, defeating him in battle and sending him to jail. Prior to that, he had sought out a master martial artist by the name of David Cain, who taught him everything there is to shooting a gun and how to be a marksman, for Lawton had spent his time as a young man practicing shooting his rifle. After years of training, Floyd Lawton became more than a man, and now had a chance to be a father of his very own to two daughters, much better than the one he had growing up. But to the streets of Gotham City and eventually the Suicide Squad, Floyd Lawton had escaped jail, and was a hardened man after escaping prison, one only known to the world as a mercenary, and the best shot ‘round the world; Deadshot.
Bullseye
“You're pretty good but me... I'm magic."
As the world goes by, the number of people on this earth goes down fewer and fewer, especially when men play god and decide to kill those they find inferior. But for one man only known as Bullseye, for him it was target practice. So deadly was his skill, literally anything in his hands was a murder weapon, down to a piece of paper or a mere toothpick. Such a man only belonged in the highest guarded U.S. prison to be studied and analyzed for why men perform such acts of madness. What is known of this man is very little; not his surname, his motivation, or his intentions. Much of what is known about him came from the man himself, falsely stating his brother set their home on fire in an attempt to kill their father, but in reality, it was Lester himself who had tried such a maniacal act at such a young age.
What little was dug up of him seemed to confirm that his marksmanship has been something retained all his life, as before his career, he was a baseball player, hoping to one day be in the big leagues of Major League Baseball, despite showing blatant sadistic tendencies. All it took was three games to make Lester bored, hitting no-hitter after no-hitters, until he decided to end the game with one final pitch, and it was a killer! Literally. He threw the ball so hard, it killed the batter. No bars could hold Lester however, and he eventually escaped and decided to become a freelance assassin, one that made his mark in New York City with a major killing spree, catching the attention of the Daredevil. The Man Without Fear stopped the mercenary in his tracks, and Lester swore vengeance on his new formidable foe, painting a bloody target across New York City, fit for an assassin with the power to use anything as a weapon, whose namesake is what secures the kills; Bullseye.
As one of if not the deadliest assassins in the world, Bullseye has crossed paths with Daredevil plenty of times, where his raw hatred for the main without fear has driven him to be as petty as even the worst comic book villains. This includes killing his girlfriend (twice, nearly thrice), and stealing his costume when he had amnesia to cosplay as him and ruin Matt's reputation, Matt has responded in kind, whether it be mentally or physically annihilating him, but no matter what utter nonsense he comes up against, even having his neck broken to the point that he can't move or speak, Bullseye will eventually get back up again. He lives to fight, he lives to kill, and nothing can tear him from this calling that he can't put in the ground.
Experience & Skill
Deadshot
Deadshot is consistently referred to as the greatest marksman and deadliest assassin in the world. He’s been training with firearms all his life, and has received training from David Cain, one of the best martial artists in the world. Deadshot has shown that even after becoming a mercenary he continues to improve his aim, such as when he returned to Gotham, with Batman confirming Lawton has refined his methods and gotten more professional, with Batman even saying a page later that Lawton is always two steps ahead of him and could’ve killed him if he was the target. When he originally went to prison, he worked out every single day and practiced shooting 100 times a day in order to get out better than ever. He’s even matched Green Arrow in a shoot(well, shoot vs bow) out, and has gone even with the likes of Deathstroke in a shootout, and is good enough at keeping his cool that he’s hardly phased by intimidation of someone pointing a gun at the back of his head and screaming at him, and proceeded to elbow said guy with a gun to the back of his head, takes his gun, shatters a window with his face and proceeds to lecture them on how to rob someone properly while doing it, so it's quite hard to intimidate Deadshot
When it comes to close quarters combat, Deadshot isn’t helpless either. He’s fought Batman many times, and has even clashed with Deathstroke, who he fought for five days straight, killing four people on the first day, fourteen people on the second day after spraying an M-16 in the crowd, Deadshot bombed a building on the third day (killing 28 people), and by the fourth day, 62 people in total were killed. With or without bullets, Deadshot can stand his ground against multiple sights on him in his own right, such as numerous armed policemen, or fighting off Vandal Savage's men with nothing but an empty gun off the floor. He’s dispatched of the Covenant, rooms full of Spyral security, and was able to kill Kobra despite having a knife to his daughter’s throat. He also manages to fight off some trained warriors with just his hands. He’s even fought against the second Deadshot, who has armor very similar to his
Deadshot is also a master tactician and is very observant when it comes to combat, and even avoiding it, such as when he disguised himself as a co-pilot on Bruce Wayne’s private flight. He was able to deduce with limited information that Superman is actually an imposter by spotting the lack of glass on the floor from the broken window, and the fact that he never mentioned his daughters name for the autograph. He’s also quite good at intimidation, and well versed enough in torture and human anatomy that he knows how to prolong bleeding out for days, and there was the time that while restrained, he kicked a gun pointing at the back of his head up enough to shoot his target directly in the chest.
He also is generally intelligent as a whole, such as being able to rig a trunk to explode if it's opened, and quickly figured out on the fly why Green Arrow wasn’t pushing his attack due to being flash banged as well in their fight. Along with being able to work around foes that his bullets won't usually cut it against, like his fight against the Closer, a explicitly bulletproof foe, where Deadshot beats him by exploiting he only has bulletproof Skin, and is smart enough to see through shapeshifting
Oh and he’s got the strange ability to suppress his emotions enough that a Black Lantern can only see cracks.
Bullseye
From such a psychotic and accomplished serial killer, it's no surprise Bullseye’s record is that of infamy incarnate. While he is mostly based on ranged combat, to the point that some people have made it a point to engage him up-close to counteract that, Bullseye is just as deadly up-close, with the feats to prove it. He’s frequently taken on dozens of enemies at the same time, like other criminals, three guards while injured, Yakuza, Skrull warriors, Hand Ninjas and several dozen thugs or AIM soldiers before getting overwhelmed in both cases. Though overwhelming him is going to be quite difficult when he can fight multiple small armies of foes alongside Deadpool, like Ninjas, Zombies, Sharks, and Monkeys without much of an issue. For general skill comparisons, he’s been dubbed moderately skilled in hand-to-hand by Steve Rogers, though not as much as he is. Strange, considering Bullseye has frequently dueled people that can give Cap a run for his money on more than one occasion, like Wolverine’s (Daken or Old Man Logan), the Punisher, and even taking on other assassins like Black Widow or Moon Knight without much trouble in both cases. This also obviously extends to his several fights with Daredevil and Elektra, with his even killing the latter infamously. Even more impressive is Lester fighting both of them at the same time, which is actually consistent enough to be repeated elsewhere in recent issues. Furthering both of these is his training with Taskmaster to mimic the movements of others such as a baseball player, and his ability to fake cardiac arrest and resist the effects of Defibrillators due to control over his muscles and heart.
Beyond pure skill, Bullseye’s absurd knowledge in murder and combat in general leads to practically genius plays against a wide variety of foes. Against foes with enhanced senses, he lit firecrackers while fighting Daredevil to blow them up and mess with his hearing, and mixed up an herbal cocktail to gunk up the senses of Old Man Logan. This includes figuring out the path and tactics of a teleporter to intercept him, and out planning the Punisher to manipulate him into taking down an entire mob through fighting him, which included finding his hidden weapons stash for that event. Seems weird for a sadist serial killer, but Bullseye is professionally dubbed a brilliant manipulator by a 32-years seasoned criminal psychiatrist, and he proved this by goading his captors at that facility into attacking him in order to escape, which included WEARING that man’s skin as a face in order to escape. He’s even taken up the role of a master planner of sorts when paralyzed and unable to move, to Daredevil’s complete shock and awe.
It’s no surprise he can accomplish this given his history, which includes killing several heroes in the past, surviving and fighting off Venom (Gargan) trying to eat him mid-battle, and easily catching projectiles Spider-Man threw at him, saying throwing these things at him wouldn’t work. He can escape a building surrounded by police while injured, spit broken teeth into your eye to stun you, block a bullet with handcuffs skillfully enough to redirect said bullet, grazes Daredevil despite his radar sense detecting the ambush, and instinctively throw plates in such a way that they shatter into shrapnel in a very specific trajectory to kill multiple guards. In case all of this didn’t make it clear, Bullseye is one of the most dangerous men in the world, with Daredevil stating he’s most certainly the most dangerous he’s ever met, and it being evidently obvious going after Bullseye is a death sentence.
Equipment
Deadshot
Body Armor
Built by Deadshot himself, Deadshot’s body armor is what keeps him in the game despite being in a world where bullets rain from the sky thanks to being bullet resistant. The bottom right side of the boot also has a hidden gun that Deadshot can use up close
Helmet
Deadshot's helmet comes equipped with an infrared scope on the right side of his face, along with a dot on it, which later versions would allow him to identify types of material like Batman wearing Kevlar and having a Decel Cable. Later versions of his helmet would allow him to tap into radio frequencies. The helmet itself also is bullet resistant, though not bulletproof. The optic itself helps him aim, and obviously, he can see through it as well.
Wrist-Mounted Guns
His wrist-mounted guns use .45 bullets that ‘burst across ribs and dislocates the shoulder’, which put Batman out of commission and can break his armor, which Deadshot had previously deduced had bulletproof kevlar. His other settings allow Deadshot to fire lasers that make a large hole in the hull of the airplane, or launch magnesium charges that he operates via hand motions. Later, he installed small missiles on his wrist-mounted guns that gravely harmed Red Hood. Or if he wants he can just use small rockets that he can attach to the end of his guns, Said rockets are powerful enough to send the Bulletproof Closer flying, and have enough AOE to destroy an entire building
Guns/Firearms
Wrist-mounted guns aren’t enough for the greatest marksman in the world, and Deadshot has a vault of weapons ready to aim down on any suspecting or unsuspecting target. Here are some of the firearms Deadshot has used throughout his career:
AK-47- Very standard and widely used shoulder firearm worldwide, holds up to 30 rounds
Duel Pistols- Has a pair of pistols
Laser Sighted Pistol- Has a laser-guided rifle used for tracking down targets easier, fires high-powered lasers.
Experimental Laser Rifle- This gun was given to Deadshot during his early days in the Task Force X that was specifically designed to penetrate magnetic fields. The goal is for him to get a clear shot at the nexus of the magnetic fields. He lands his shot and Brimstone begins to explode.
Sniper Rifle- Its bullet range can reach from buildings away.
Rocket Launcher- Shoots rockets that can blow up large Korab cult mutants
Elephant Gun- A .700 express double-barrel gun used to stagger the Cheetah
Gatling Gun- Rapid fire multiple-barrel machine gun that has an ammo capacity of 511 rounds
Specialized Ammo
Over the years, Deadshot has had to fight quite a few people well above his pay grade, be it in protection or just them being both metaphorically and literally built differently compared to him. Which is where Deadshot has gotten some bigger firepower to handle these tougher foes.
For starters, Deadshots ammunition has been shown to at its best damage and pierce through kevlar armor and bulletproof skin, such as his Bullets being able to stagger Batman, who as noted before has kevlar in his armor, and his ammunition being able to pierce Killer Crocs skin, despite Killer Crocs skin being bulletproof. Another example is ammunition that can pierce over 70 layers of kevlar, which is consistent in that his ammunition can blast through Tankograd’s armor, which was described as tank-grade.
Bullet Potency:
His bullets are strong enough on their own to bust down reinforced doors
Tears through Man-Bats skin
Blinded Kyle Rayner with a bullet
Shoot through Manta's Armor
Types of Ammo:
Has Incendiary Shots
Rounds that Green Arrow described as “high explosive”,
Non-Lethal rounds
But one of Deadshots most potent rounds he’s been able to find has been his High-velocity armor piercing shells; they stagger Wonder Woman and Superman, and pin Superman to the wall with a flurry of bullets, dealing damage to Clark’s body to the point where they left bullet-sized craters on his skin. Wonder Woman herself notes they are made of a ‘strange caliber’.
FBI Database Scanner
Deadshot has a scanner tapped into the criminal database that gives him the FBI’s most wanted, and how much their bounty is just by scanning fingerprints.
Grappling Hook
Used to access tall buildings easier, the spear tip allows it to go through glass windows. He also has this same tool in his arm gauntlets, making for even easier usage.
Scalpels
Small but sharp knives typically used surgically, but for Deadshot, if bullets aren’t making the cut, maybe a detachable blade will.
Cybernetic Augmentations
Deadshot’s left arm was cybernetically augmented, making him strong enough to dent a hole in a wall.
Bullseye
Suit
When you go to work, you need to wear the best suit for the job, so let’s check out Bullseye’s Sunday best for putting you to eternal rest. The suit appears to be lined with a kevlar mesh of sorts, which allows Bullseye to shrug off heavy artillery gunfire without much trouble, as well as be somewhat fire resistant. Of note, it also allowed him to survive several bullets hitting him square in the chest, when they were high-tech variants that could do a good deal of damage to Spider-Man, and were noted as rather impressive artillery in the story, so the effectiveness of the material should be made clear through this. His mask also bears triple-thick val-ar, as a Fiber-Glass composite that he somewhat compares to 30 layers of Kevlar and is noted to stop bullets, albeit not at close range. Finally, he carries plastic explosives in his gloves that he can toss on the fly to blast away other objects.
Guns/Firearms
With the reputation as the greatest marksman in the world, Bullseye is obviously a crack shot with pretty much any weapon that can even remotely be considered a gun. He’s used plenty over the years, with the most noteworthy and consistent being listed below.
Gun - Handguns are fairly basic for Bullseye's tastes, but he's still used them plenty of times in battle, even against large alien squadrons, or an army of Hand Ninjas, with him making a point of things to never bring more bullets than necessary in case someone picks up a dropped weapon to try and use it against him.
Revolver - While fairly average, Bullseye still used this to trickshot a cop by bouncing a bullet off a wall, somehow.
Bazooka/Missile Launchers - Killed someone with a Bazooka in the past, and has also used Missile Launchers before on assassination attempts or otherwise, complete with targeting visors on occasions like a large-scale battle against the Skrulls, along with general experience using these bad boys.
Shotgun - Killed someone with one in the past.
Uzi - Used this to fight Skrulls.
Popgun - Had this. It's cool.
Cable Gun - Used this.
Machine Gun - Has used this while fighting Deadpool.
Big Gun - Has another big gun which he got out of nowhere???
Sniper Rifle - Bullseye wouldn’t be much of a marksman if he wasn’t proficient in shooting at long range, and he is the best marksman, so it’s obvious he would have a sniper rifle for long range kills on several people, which also includes laser-guiding, and on other occasions something like a high-powered assault rifle with a muzzle velocity of 2,000 feet per second.
Sonic Gun - With an addition to his cartridge gun, Bullseye could fire incredibly powerful sonics that even an amateur could use to kill, and ones powerful enough to vaporize a large tank of water into steam.
Ray Gun - Shot this, and some unnamed sort of energy blast at Daredevil.
Explosives
You’d be surprised how much Bullseye resorts to just blowing up the area with these. Beyond more simple versions like Claymore Mines for assassinations, Bullseye has frequently utilized timed explosives to destroy buildings, like timed dynamite to level a house, usually via remote detonator, and has killed Rook with explosive boleadoras by throwing them at his head, blowing it up. Regardless of the level, these are powerful enough to damage other top-tier humans in Marvel, such as the Punisher.
Playing Cards
For a strange but useful pick, Bullseye has frequently used playing Cards of all kinds over the years. It does make sense, as their small size and weight combined with the still sharp edge makes several dozen usages of worth in these unexpected weapons. Aside from the obvious battles with Daredevil, he's thrown several more while on motorcycle, handed some by Kingpin for a prison riot, slaughtered a warehouse using these among other tools, threw to slit throats from several dozen feet away, and even threw some cleanly through glass twice to fly straight through windows, then a mans skull. Similarly and even more petty is his using photos, which function the same, but allow him to place pictures of dead loved ones on them for pissing people off all the more.
Throwing Stars/Shurikens
Bullseye has repeatedly used these over the years, whether it be against Daredevil, Skrulls, Wolverine’s, or just assassinations in general. It should also be noted he's also brought them to fights where he isn't wearing his suit and therefore gadgets, so they seem to be a favorite of Lester's.
Sai
If you know even the bare minimum for Bullseye, you're probably aware he's directly responsible for the death of the Catwoman to Daredevil’s Batman, Elektra. Since that little touch of ecstasy, Bullseye has kept on using Sai, just to taunt Matt over it. He usually carries around 2 in his belt, with which he can throw for headshots or stabbing wounds just like the infamous Elektra example.
Bladed Weapons
Similar to Sai, Bullseye has a penchant for bladed weapons over bullets, as they are fairly easy to use all things considered. With knives, Kunai, swords, scalpels, or daggers, Bullseye can use altered variants for any job, such as a smaller knife in the Punch Dagger, to slash the tires of a car while driving one himself, and to stab through any of Marvel's Street crowd, like Wolverine’s or Moon Knight, who wears heavy-duty kevlar armor meant to resist bullets. Some variants of these can even cut through the skin of much stronger foes, such as Ms. Marvel, Mar-Vell, or She-Hulk.
Botox
When fighting Punisher, Bullseye used this select chemical, which he shot into Punisher via a dart to affect him instantly. This drug fully paralyzed his entire body to the point that he was incapable of moving, and left him wide-open to attack to such a degree that Bullseye could have killed him if he wanted to.
Miscellaneous Weapons
Bolo - Killed someone with it in the past.
Bow and Arrow - Killed someone with it in the past, and while pretending to be Hawkeye, he carried a bow/plenty of arrows, which include explosive variants
Crosses - When fighting Daredevil, Bullseye threw multiple of these with no issue
Darts - Befittingly, Bullseye has used this accuracy based pastime for his many killing sprees.
Helicopter - Bullseye has a whole armored helicopter, because of course he does
Paperclip - Rather than shoot Deadpool with a comically 90's gun, Bullseye opted to fling a Paperclip at him. But not just any Paperclip, a poisoned Paperclip, which Lester carries the antidote for.
Resin - Threw a bag of this at Daredevil to make his senses go haywire and nearly suffocate him.
Spear - After he left an island where he was recovering from a previous battle with Matt, he took an Oroku as a souvenir to throw at ol hornhead later on
Smoke Bomb - Has used a smoke bomb before.
Invisible Motorcycle - Yes. He had an invisible motorcycle, with even an edgelord like Penance riding in the side cart. Too bad he blew it up right after.
Giant Crossbow - Ah, the years in comics where a psychopath could get any sort of nonsensical weapons, where Bullseye could get A CAR SIZED CROSSBOW TO SHOOT DAREDEVIL OUT OF. HOW???!!!
Abilities
Deadshot
Marksmanship
Deadshot is commonly stated to be the man who “never misses”, being called the best shot in the world. All his life, he has wielded countless firearms and ranged weapons, being renowned by allies and enemies alike for his immense skill with shooting and accuracy. Deadshot claims that he could’ve easily shot Batman through the mouth if he wanted to, and Deathstroke claims if he didn’t have super senses, he’d be perforated (which means filled with bullet holes). He refers to himself as the greatest sniper in the world, even by others, and has claimed to have hit shots that have been unable to be performed by anyone on the planet.
Shooting Sprees:
With Peacemaker, shoots the mutated Deveraux off of the boat and into the ocean
Guns down most of a room of H.I.V.E soldiers without any of them being able to fight back
Guns down an entire crowd with a pair of pistols before they can get a shot off, almost every single one is a headshot(also doubles as a precise shot feat)
While blindfolded and dodging gunfire from Maurader, takes down an entire room of fleeing high priority targets
Disarming:
Shoots a gun out of Stinger’s hand
Stops an FBI agent from shooting his daughter, disarming him and shooting two more in the knees

Shoots a bullet at a suspension-brace, which snaps and releases a sign towards Alfred and Julia Pennyworth
Shot out a car’s tire so the car swerves to hit them
Takes down an armored helicopter trying to gun him down with a machine gun… With a single bullet
Would have gotten nothing but bullseyes while blindfolded, had Captain Boomerang 2 not fucked with his bullets to slightly redirect them
Shoots someone while turned away the whole time in just the right place so they die instantly
Doubles as a firing spree feat, but Snipes all the cracks in the power armor to shoot down each with one shot a piece

Deadshot shoots a button that activates a missile
Shoots the ceiling of a plane hard enough to split the whole plane in half to neutralize the zombie robots
Well-placed shot to the control panel shuts off the portal, despite Deadshot calling it an impossible shot

Takes down 6 people with them at gunpoint
Ricochet a bullet to gun down someone
Makes a hole with a bullet while shooting a 2nd one through the same hole while falling down
Deadshot was going to snipe Captain Boomerang
Weapon Mastery
Even without a gun, Lawton is very capable at wielding any weapon that can be fired at someone else. He was confident in his ability to kill Amanda Waller with a weapon despite being behind bars. He was able to kick a rock and make it ricochet perfectly and hit a man on the head. He then kicks another one of the men holding him, and shoots a power line
Pain Tolerance
Deadshot’s peak human condition allows for his stamina and endurance to carry him through fights despite suffering grave injuries. Because in his own words, he’s been “Shot a bunch, stabbed, Zapped, Burned, tortured, and had his mustache insulted” over his lifetime and he’s still going, and his showings of endurance back this up! He shot himself in the neck to fake being helpless, survived being stabbed by Lobo’s chain, having his hands broken by Midnighter, and despite Katana cutting off his hand, he still had enough energy to shoot Rustam through the chest. He even kept running at the second Deadshot and punched him despite clearly being shot through the chest.
Hell, even after having been flashbanged and had a sonic arrow blast into his ears to disorient him, still manages to directly snipe one of Green Arrows, well, arrows out of the air, he survived being beaten by “Kuk Ga Bo Wi Bu” and was outright stated by the torturer to ‘resist it’ and more impressively, he remained conscious and kept fighting after Pathfinder fried his nervous system. He even has long standing endurance feats as well, such as the time was tortured by electric shock likely several times with only five hour rests in between and doesn’t break to reveal who he’s working for, and despite having Deathstroke light him up, he was still conscious enough to have a full conversation through the pain. He once had his legs broken, collar bone broken, had internal injuries and electrocuted multiple times, and still mocked Slade. He even got himself stabbed, just to shoot someone.
Stealth
In order to line up the shots and get the drop on foes, Deadshot is quite capable of stealth and sneaking up on unsuspecting people, even being able to sneak up on a master martial artist such as Tarantula. He's able to sneak up behind a guy during a shootout while hiding in smoke.
Resistances
Limited Mind Control: Even if briefly and barely, resists Doctor Psychos Mind Control to not shoot Catman
Limited Poison Resistance: Despite being poisoned, was still far more functional than any other member of his poisoned team
Bullseye
Marksmanship
It should be fairly obvious given his name, but Bullseye is without a doubt one of the greatest marksmen on the planet, and certainly its deadliest in a duel to the death. His attacks are so accurate that a normal man could never predict the trajectory of his thrown projectiles, nor possess the speed to dodge them that Matt’s Radar Sense provides. Even with essential precognition, Daredevil has openly failed to dodge in time despite his senses. It’s now wonder that he has consistently been referred to as “the world's deadliest shot” with several others backing this up, and also earned other statements such as never missing according to Deadpool, and having “marksmanship beyond comprehension” by Daredevil. Bullseye’s proven this mettle by matching shots with other world-renowned marksmen, such as Hawkeye, with him doing the same with Kate Bishop, Clint’s equally skilled partner.
Beyond just general skill comparisons and statements, let's turn to some actual examples of this mind-numbing accuracy in play. Bullseye can make headshots with his back turned, dual-wield double shotguns with his eyes closed, hit headshots with scalpels straight out of serious surgery, and bounce all manner of shots off other objects (Toothpicks, Playing Cards, Thrown Arrows, trash can lids, Knives, and oh so many bullets). If you thought bouncing bullets was crazy, Bullseye has redirected shots at close-range from a cyborg super-sniper who can reportedly “shoot a gnat’s wings off from 500 yards away,” and bounce a bullet off several walls to get the jump on a teleporter. Bullseye’s pure range in shots is nothing short of outstanding either, given he has frequently shown he can kill with any object from 100+ to 500 yards away, shoot a man through the eye on horseback from 2 miles away with a rifle, and perform a billion-to-one shot (threw an alloy hubcap at such a precise velocity that it hit a speeding cab with an exact angle/vector of penetration to blow it up). As Moon Knight says when Bullseye is shooting at his plane from ground level, with Bullseye, you’re never out of range.
What’s more, Bullseye is generally an expert at throwing his projectiles to kill or severely harm his opponents. His tools are thrown with surgical precision according to the Punisher, and he’s showcased this through collapsing a building through destabilizing it with a magic paper airplane, throwing coin rolls into machine gun muzzles to block their fire and destroy them, launching a knife into the one vulnerable spot on an enemies bulletproof armor right after figuring out how durable it was, or somehow managing to accurately throw literal scraps of wood, grains of sand, and literal snowflakes. I shouldn’t have to stress that this is scientifically impossible for any field of vision, as they are not only nearly weightless, but leagues smaller than even other objects like pebbles, yet Bullseye can still accurately hit his shots with them with no issues whatsoever.
Miscellaneous:
Threw an umbrella right between the eyes of a billboard a distance away without looking
Launches a metallic toothpick into Kingpin’s cigarette without even looking
Popped the tires of an ambulance with a paperclip from buildings away
Can easily make shots from hundreds of feet away
Threw a card through glass cleanly twice, including clean through a guys skull from buildings away
Taskmaster copying Bullseye’s technique let him send a golf ball to smash a snipers rifle
Disarmed two gunmen via a broken pencil, with the halves of the writing utensil bouncing off the guns to scar the cheeks of both men.
Weapon Proficiency
While this falls more in line with skill, this is all but entirely out of that and more of a superpower than anything else. Bullseye has the near-superhuman ability to pick up and master any weapon, with any mundane object becoming a lethal projectile with flawless accuracy in his hands. This literally means ANYTHING, to the point that while in prison he was fully immobilized, with him being given food via liquid, as even eating utensils are tools of destruction for him. That also doubles as an extra precaution, as eating solid food would lead to solid bowel movement release, which he can also weaponize. Yes, you read that right. Bullseye can canonically weaponize his own shit. A casual example of this is how Bullseye threw a shuriken then nailed it to a wall with a spear, when he outright stated he had never used it before. This is because Bullseye is simply 100% natural talent, and that if it's a weapon, he’ll pick it up and be the best at it, just like that.
What follows is a list of all that he's weaponized over the years…which is a doozy.
Daredevil’s Club - One of the more infamous examples: Bullseye got his hands on it and Daredevil’s costume once, and used it like a master with no trouble, which he has done several times since. Even more despicable than that was when he used it to kill Karen, Daredevil’s girlfriend for years.
Hawkeye’s Bow and Arrows - When Osborn formed a darker Avengers team after rising to power, he enlisted Bullseye in the place of the heroic archer, Hawkeye. While cosplaying (and stealing Clint's place on the DB thumbnail for years), Bullseye has used trick arrows just as impressively. This extends to being able to simply launch arrows by hand, or match shots with an actual Hawkeye through Kate Bishop.
Statue - Threw this to knock a gun out of a woman’s hands.
Glasses - He threw a pair of broken glasses to injure someone's hand and make him drop his gun.
Rattle, Hat, Lipstick - Bullseye somehow threw all of these to knock out cops.
Apple - With a mere throw of an already half-bitten fruit, Bullseye easily killed an elderly man.
Pen - Threw a pen through a man’s throat
Bricks - While anybody can weaponize a brick, none can like Bullseye.
Paperclip - Once, while reading Catcher in the Rye, Bullseye decided to assert his dominance by flinging a paperclip to cut through a glass, ricochet off the wall, and bounce back to act as a bookmark. On other occasions, he has thrown several hard enough to crack walls, or popped the tires of a moving ambulance from buildings away.
Teeth - Yes. He has killed people with thrown teeth.
Coffee Pot - Thanks to the hot liquid inside, this was a rather inspired choice for a method of attack.
Popsicle Stick - Killed people with a popsicle stick just because he could.
Scalpels - Picked some up fresh out of his own surgery to perform his own open heart operations.
Bullet - Oh sure, you could simply shoot a bullet through a gun, or be like Bullseye and throw one like a lethal weapon with your bare-hands.
Chopsticks - Casually killed a man by throwing these.
Sucker - Threw one of these into Hit-Monkey’s throat, so suck on that.
Record - Used one of these as a discus to cut a woman’s finger off.
Blowdart, Shotgun, Bow and Arrow, Claymore Mine, Bolo, Bazooka - Killed several people with these in the past.
Bottlecap - Throwing a bottle? Too easy. Bullseye threw a bottlecap to kill a man and then used it against Logan.
Serving Forks - Threw this to kill a man and stab through both his eyes.
Writing Utensils - Was shown to kill an entire office with pens and staplers.
Eating Utensils - Implied he would kill a man with them, and later he was riddled with them, with other occasions having him do the same via forks/knives or dinner plates
Coins/Coin Rolls - While at a bank fight, Bullseye threw coin rolls into machine gun muzzles to block their fire, and used them as projectiles on Logan to seriously injure him. He's also killed a mall santa using a quarter, so it's pretty consistent. Can kill people with quarters hundreds of feet away likely
Rosary Beads - Killed a room full of nuns just to piss off Daredevil, including via these beads.
Trash Cans and Beer Bottles - Takes down some goons with beer bottles and a trash can lid
Metallic Nails - ???…
I.D Card - From throwing cards or photos, it's no surprise Bullseye can use this to similar effect.
Record/Record Case - Has killed Ruby Tuesday with these rather easily
100-Dollar Bill - Threw this to impale an old man’s head.
Pebbles - Threw these to kill a man and open a vault door…somehow.
Fast Food Drink - Slit Deadpool’s throat with the straw and drink lid of this, respectively.
Candy - Somehow hurts Deadpool, one of Marvel's deadliest assassins, with candy.
Cooked Spaghetti - Yes.
Toothpicks - Even in areas as casual as torturing people (normal for Bullseye anyway), he can easily use mere tooth picks as deadly projectiles to evoke severe pain on hardened soldiers, or use the same against hardened supervillains while aiming for the eyes, with him also bouncing a toothpick into Old Man Logan's ear to rupture it.
Splinters - Ok uh, somehow, he has weaponized literal scraps of wood.
Sand Grain - Accurately threw a grain of sand to attack somebody, somehow.
Snowflake - I swear I'm not making this up. By his own admission, Bullseye can unalive someone. WITH A SNOWFLAKE. Just a brief fact for you, snowflakes AT MAX weigh 1/50th of a gram. And he can kill. With that.
Stealth
When fighting a guy with one of the most overpowered senses in comic history, Bullseye needs to be stealthy as a Ninja in order to get past him. He's used this to sneak up on Matt by manipulating the echo chamber of a church, sneak up on Jack Flag to practically kill him, do the exact same to a sniper, and quickly escape from Old Man Logan’s sight, though his senses were messed with prior. Evading Daredevil’s senses has become a bit of a hobby in all honesty, but he’s also snuck into the apartment of fellow top-tier assassin Black Widow, where she didn’t know he was there until he announced his presence, and countered stealth attacks from other stealthy fighters like Elektra’s. On a broader scale, he also managed to avoid the patrols of several heroes, including Spider-Man, while on a multi-day murder-spree.
Acrobatics
Similarly to stealth, Lester needs equally good acrobatic skill to keep up with the Man without Fear. He's used your above-average flips while midair to swing down building floors for example, but also leaped around foes like a psychotic Yoda just because, and even leaped off of a building onto a rocket.
Pressure Point & Nerve Combat
As we mentioned earlier, Bullseye’s attacks hit with surgical precision, and Lester has furthered that sentiment with extensive knowledge on the human body, as well as how to instantly kill it in any number of ways. He's frequently mentioned and/or threatened bodily harm against others, like shoving one's finger through their Ocular Orbit, talked of splitting a man’s jugular open via ID Card, or slicing up your Carotid Artery to blow out your spinal cord at the cerebral cortex with a golf club (he's also mentioned aiming for the Carotid Artery if he wanted to kill someone). For actual examples, he's thrown a cardboard paper airplane into a vulnerable nerve center on Daredevil’s head to instantly knock him out of commission, pressed his weapon against a woman's nerve cluster at the base of her spine to give her agonizing pain with just one movement, and thrown shurikens/his teeth at vital areas like eyes and jugular. Most impressively, he snuck up on Jack Flag to jam a blade through the Vertebral Canal of his spinal column to destroy his Cauda Equina; making it so he was effectively paralyzed, and could never walk again.
Going for weak spots isn't just limited to nerves or anything like that, as he's frequently gotten around the armor of foes to shut off their gadgets and by extension most of their powers. He unleashed rapid blows on the weak points in the elbow joints of Penance’s armor, casually dropped a knife from high up to wreck Quake’s arm gauntlet, and threw darts into someone's legs despite his armor to make him not be able to feel them. Further and better examples come from Bullseye throwing a knife into the one vulnerable spot of an enemy's bulletproof armor after briefly fighting him to figure this out, and stabbing through Songbird’s harness and gauntlets specifically to shut off her powers while chasing her.
Adamantium Bones/Endurance
After a particularly fierce battle with Daredevil, Bullseye was brought to a far-off island to heal, where his skeleton was replaced with metal to fix the damage to his spine. This was rumored and confirmed to be Adamantium; an engineered super-metal that ensures Bullseye can take
and dish out harder hits than he could before. Because of this, it's been somewhat implied he could directly survive a shot to his head due to the adamantium-laced skull, which he himself has stated you’d need a vibranium scalpel to get through. Even more absurd are its showings of growing his pain tolerance, which pretty much shoots it through the roof.
As far as that goes, he's shrugged off immense physical trauma, like repeated assault from several heroes at once while also getting hit by a truck, or being mostly fine after getting hit by a car then having his arm run over. He shrugged off stabbing and lacerations from Moon Knight, ignored getting his arm impaled or even his whole body for a time, and was mostly fine after getting impaled multiple times across his body from Hawkeye’s arrows. This extends to gunshot wounds, where he's survived a bullet ripping through his leg. He's also shrugged off all kinds of torture, like physical beatings/stabbings/burining his face with a pole fresh from the fire, or getting stabbed with daggers hooked up to a car battery that gave him several shocks, but he still walked them off a short while later. Even more impressive is when he was beaten severely by a small army of thugs and tortured by their leader, but still found the energy to break out of captivity, evade the other army chasing him, and shrug off a car explosion that embedded shattered glass into his body before being shot (which he also survived.
Aside from that, he's endured a bloody battle with Wolverine while still escaping after, survived gunshot wounds and falling off a building despite his injuries, and been thoroughly battered by American Eagle—a foe on par with Spider-Man—yet, still fought on until he was taken out by an unrelated factor. Of course, much of this is related to an all but indomitable willpower, which has driven him from getting his spine damaged in an impossible recovery to making it back to his old self in 18 months, through training and sheer will.
Murder Instinct
As a rather nightmarish concept, Bullseye has stated the euphoria he gets from murder can even go so far as to make him greater at committing it. In his own words, his head goes light, the weight drops from his body, his heart beats faster, and there's no strain in any of it. He becomes faster, stronger, and any limitations like the gravity on his body all but vanish as he truly lives in the heat of the battle. The more he kills, the more he ascends, to the point that any who encounter him might as well stare an angel of death in the eye.
Now, this may seem a bit strange and hyperbolic, but it is actually pretty backed as a concept. When in the zone, Bullseye views trained soldiers in slow motion and regular people as statues, and casually killed dozens of prisoners and guards in a riot the more he got into things, to the point that he used shotguns with his eyes closed and called it boring. He's also pulled off several feats of skill and stamina beyond what most others can claim, like fighting seasoned martial artists such as Daredevil and Elektra at the same time on multiple occasions. Thus, strange as it is, this is an actual phenomenon that Bullseye can access, and all the more reason he's one of the most dangerous killers on the planet.
Resistances
Telepathy/Psychic Abilities - A telepath couldn’t get into his head, and he can mysteriously evade the attempts of psychics scanning the city to find him. He's also stated that due to the Adamantium coating on his skull, it naturally blocks neural inhibitors.
Electricity - Even though it was quite painful and damaging, Bullseye still survived being stabbed directly in the chest twice at the same time from daggers hooked up to a car battery of sorts, with the one doing it remarking he would start at 75. This is important because a level of 50-100 is enough to give you a life threatening heart rhythm, and Bullseye not only took several of these shocks, but walked them off mere moments later to push through the pain like nothing happened.

Scaling
Deadshot
Batman
Deadshot has frequently fought and tanked hits from Batman, and more importantly, his bullets have pierced his bulletproof kevlar armor, and both have admitted that at many times, Deadshot is able to kill Batman in certain situations. He’s also stated to be beyond Robin’s capability to the point that Batman went alone to fight him, further proving the threat Lawton holds to the Dark Knight.
Survived a blast from an earthquake-creating gun (26.8 Kilotons of TNT)
Batman is considered better, albeit not by much, than Black Canary.
Black Canary can perceive and react in a nanosecond (3.3 - 4.3c)
Has fought Adam Strange’s rogues gallery, and likely should be comparable to him
Adam Strange survived being accelerated by Earth's expansion (77.06 Kilotons of TNT)
Adam Strange survived being launched on a meteor to the sun (62.89 Kilotons of TNT)
Can tank cold blasts from Mr. Freeze’s guns, and beaten the crap out of Mr. Freeze to boot
His freeze gun is capable of making massive ice blocks in seconds. (1.883 Kilotons of TNT)
His Freeze Gun when ruptured exploded into this massive ice column (5.78 Kilotons of TNT)
Deathstroke
As one of the deadliest beings in the entire grouping of DC’s street tiers, Deathstroke is by no means an easy foe to face. That just makes it all the more impressive when Deadshot fought him for several days straight across sniping from other buildings or up close at points. While they were likely taking breaks to sleep or eat through this, the point still stands that taking on Slade is a huge deal, and attributes equally impressive feats to Lawton by comparison.
Survived a submarine being thrown at him (1.3 kilotons of TNT)
Has taken blasts from Gunfire, who can blast magma to the bottom of the ocean (38.54 Kilotons of TNT)
Has dodged attacks from Katana, who has blocked lasers (2.27c)
Bullseye
Daredevil
As the Joker to Matt’s Batman (seriously Bullseye has pulled a Jason Todd twice on him through just his girlfriends), it’s obvious he would scale to the Man without Fear. Even beyond simply fighting him all the time, official sources in-universe detail how pretty much every encounter between these two leaves both battered and bloody. He’s also frequently battled and even killed Elektra, his main competition for “the world’s greatest assassin” and one of Matt’s closest allies; even fighting her and Daredevil at the same time on other occasions.
Tussles with Sabertooth, and one-shot Daken
Effortlessly defeated Deadpool
Caught arrows from master Archers while injured
Dodged lightspeed projectiles like Iron Man’s repulsor beam and Cyclops's Optic Blasts
Could perceive and react in a Nanosecond (3.3 - 5.6c)
Moon Knight
Moon Knight is without a doubt one of the deadliest fighters in the Marvel street gallery, and Bullseye has interacted with him as well. In this battle, Lester clearly had the advantage throughout, shown when their first fight ended in Marc retreating, and the second had him shrug off Marc’s higher blades before destroying the hideout they were in due to outright admitting he couldn’t beat Bullseye. This was especially impressive due to the fact that this was on a night with a full moon, meaning Bullseye fought and beat Moon Knight at his strongest. Thus, he would comfortably scale to anything the Fist of Khonshu can pull off.
Moon Knight blocked a beam of light with a mirror (44% SoL)
Survived a sand tornado destroying a temple
Disarmed Deadpool of his gun before he could fire it
Even without boosts from the moon, Moon Knight has proven comparable to several other street tiers, and this would include Captain America. Similarly, Bullseye is Peak Human Strength according to Captain America, in the same league as foes like Red Skull who have continually matched Steve himself
Captain America was able to move at light speed to block a beam of Light from a camera
Could withstand a blast similar to an exploding nuke (104 Tons - 12 Kilotons)
Wolverine
Wolverine is the best there is at what he does, but that's certainly up for discussion when Bullseye’s in the room. Not only has Bullseye fought Daken (Logan’s son) who can similarly fight X-23, but also stabbed him and ripped out his teeth, or threw an arrow through Daken’s body before he could react. Bullseye has also fought an alternate universe Wolverine in Old Man Logan multiple times, and fought the main Wolverine before in flashbacks. Technically speaking, due to Bullseye possessing an adamantium coated skeleton, he is sort of a pseudo-Wolverine anyway, so it’s more than fine to compare the two.
Survived being punched to Georgia, a country in Europe (1.3 - 333.5 Tons of TNT)
Has dodged and intercepted Cyclops laser blasts several times, which move at the Speed of Light
Cyclops can redirect his Optic Blast in a nanosecond (3.33c)
Snapped steel chains made of the "hardest steel money can buy”, which was believed to be unbreakable
Tanked an attack with other X-Men that shook New York (2.24 Kilotons of TNT)
Ragdolled and solidly defeated a woman who had the strength to move mountains (2.23 - 37.54 Kilotons of TNT)
Survived a point-blank nuclear blast (21.7 Kilotons of TNT)
At least comparable to Deadpool, given the shared Weapon X experimental nature of sorts, and the two have fought several times.
Deadpool survived getting punched out of Krakoa (30.09 Kilotons of TNT)
Weaknesses
Deadshot
Despite being the man who never misses, Deadshot…misses the mark in some areas that makes him fall short. For starters, all guns need ammunition, which means Deadshot eventually needs to reload if his shots aren’t doing the job, and while he is competent in close quarters, firearms are his main weaponry, and without them, the clock starts to tick for how long he can fight. Deadshot also suffers from recklessness to the point of suicidal tendencies, viewing life as meaningless and just shooting until he himself dies, making him prone to taking injuries that could potentially kill him and being in impossible situations that ultimately get him trounced. And while it doesn’t impact him in the middle of a fight, he suffers from homicidal tendencies and visions. Finally, he can and has gotten jumpy enough to act on pure reflexes, which has allowed him to focus on unnecessary factors and smart enough foes to trick him because of that.
Bullseye
Bullseye is, frankly, pretty ridiculous as an assassin, but he's far from perfect. Despite his decent stealth plays, Lester has been snuck up on by Daredevil, and Songbird was aware of his trying to sneak up on her. Despite his ranged proficiency, others have claimed he’s not as good up close, and that when he runs out of weapons he’s a sitting duck, specifically trying to get in for a fist-fight to take advantage of that. He’s also driven by ego first and foremost, which leads him to get quite arrogant and thus prone to serious counterattack. This comes from Daredevil taking advantage of this to knock him out, or openly admitting he purposely missed Daredevil
on a few occasions, and ultimately losing due to that. Granted, both these occasions stem from a desire to prove himself the better man, like how one such time he was actively trying not to kill Daredevil due to replicating a similar scenario where Daredevil refused to kill Bullseye. From that angle, Bullseye wanted to burden him with the knowledge that he would be alive to see all of the murders Lester would commit, all because he couldn’t stop him.
Before the Verdict
What About Deadshot’s Lightspeed Laser Gun?
Is Bullseye Really The World's Greatest Sssassin?
Bullseye’s reputation is one of a legend, but another exists who challenges the notion that he is the best, with this rival being Elektra. It is a somewhat relevant topic, so we’ll discuss it nonetheless. Across the many statements and such of who is better, on Elektra’s side, Kingpin has corrected Bullseye and said Elektra was better, with Iron Man saying she is the most dangerous assassin on the planet as well. On Bullseye’s side, he was stated to be the world's greatest assassin on a new bulletin, with Elektra being alive at the time (their big fight was about a dozen issues later), was stated the world's greatest assassin twice in the lead-up to one of his stories, and is stated as likely the greatest assassin in the world. Both are pretty much even in that reputable sources both claim that one is better than the other.
In terms of overall showings, let's turn to Bullseye’s many fights with Elektra over the years. In their most infamous first battle, it was a clear and infamous victory for Bullseye, who stabbed Elektra and she died as a result. In other examples, he fought her after studying her for months and was consistently beating her as a result, but she won the fight overall by leaning into her darker side. On another occasion, he fought her while posing as Hawkeye during his stint with the Dark Avengers, where the battle was pretty much even, with Bullseye tricking her into less favorable positions due to aiming at her friends and drugging her over it, but she ultimately stabbed him to force him to retreat, with both being too injured to call a decisive victor. Finally, after being healed by the Hand (long story) and improved to an unknown degree, Bullseye was pretty solidly beating her, with him saying at both of their best in earlier years, she would beat him “any day of the week.”
These do seem like clear indicators that Elektra is meant to be the more skilled and deadly fighter, but that’s not really the full picture. For the first example where he studied her for months and still lost, this is expressly due to mental circumstances on both ends. Bullseye was noted by Elektra to be toying with her due to the knowledge of her fighting style, which explains his edge in the battle, and that he could have killed her whenever he wanted. To counter this, Elektra simply fought like an entirely different person, shocking Bullseye, who was so focused on countering her fighting style that she defeated him through that. It's a simple strategy on her part and Bullseye’s own surprise at it, not “Oh I beat you despite you training for months to beat me,” or anything of the sort. In the second fight mentioned, as I discussed, both were severely injured by the end of it. Elektra flat-out fell down after impaling Bullseye, who only really retreated due to other enemy fire and needing medical attention. The fight had him drug and trick her, but even before that, it was too even to call either a solid victor.
Finally, we have the fight where he said she would beat him any day of the week at their best. Frankly, this statement is just false and a poor writing choice. The two have blatantly fought the same kinds of people multiple times, let alone Bullseye KILLING her while both were completely fine and in a decent state of mind. The implication from this is that Elektra is just leagues above him and he only won due to extenuating circumstances, which is false in every aspect and ignores their fights prior. The fight here had Bullseye enhanced to an unknown but not supernatural degree, where he beat her to a pulp and only lost due to her outhaxing him with an unexpected item through catching him by surprise. To support the notion that they are roughly even or simply that Elektra isn’t above him to the degree that the comic claims, Bullseye also nearly killed Black Widow in the story leading up to the Elektra fight, with Natasha later fighting Elektra to a draw herself while injured. What’s more, recent issues, even as far back as the 2000’s, have had Bullseye fight both Daredevil and Elektra at the same time, and solidly outmatching Elektra when she was on her own for a time. An issue only months old at this point (Daredevil Volume 8 Issue 8 for those curious) had the exact same scenario, where Bullseye evenly fought the pair simultaneously.
So in short, the two are far more even then some writers would have you believe. Both are claimed the greatest assassin by different sources, have varying victories over each other due to context, and equally impressive skill feats. Bullseye fighting both Elektra and Daredevil at once leads credence to this, as he could not possibly be less of a threat then her and still pull that off. Overall, the two are pretty much even in threat as an assassin, mostly varying based on writer, but the overall notion that they are more or less equals is the most correct and consistent answer to this.
Spider-Man Scaling
This is a rather odd BTV, as there's no exact reason for Bullseye specifically to scale to Spider-Man, but vs is a funny thing.
Jumping straight into this, no, Bullseye doesn't scale to Spider-Man in physicals. While he has dodged a kick from Spider-Man and fought him a few times, this is but one of many occasions where Peter is simply holding back so he doesn't punch Lester's head off. Peter has blatantly beaten him up before, weaved his attacks then knocked him down right after, while Venom has one-shot him when serious. The most blatant example of this is Bullseye's encounter with American Eagle, who is at least a Spidey tier, given he defeated Venom just an issue earlier than his encounter with Bullseye…where he proceeded to pound him into paste while still holding back to draw it out, then break his neck with a kick. So yes, Bullseye doesn't scale to Peter in physicals, but that's not his only means of being argued to scale.
While Lester is certainly not on Peter’s level physically, it does stand to reason that his weapons are, or at the least in his general ballpark. Despite his losing to Venom and Spider-Man pretty solidly, Bullseye has thrown objects to outright harm them both and pierce through their defenses. Once he even threw screws at Spider-Man using a web-shield, who outright stated the attack hurt even through it. On a similar note, his kevlar protected him, though was ultimately destroyed, by high-tech bullets that expressly harmed Peter earlier in that fight. Frankly, Bullseye having weapons that hit outside of his pay grade isn't exactly new, when he's wielded blades that can harm other foes comparable to or higher than Spider-Man, like Ms. Marvel, Mar-Vell, or She-Hulk.
So to close out on this, Bullseye doesn't scale to Peter physically, but does via weapons, like his daggers (or most weapons he throws if the screws are anything to go by), which have other examples of damaging higher foes to add more justification for this sort of thing.
Verdicts
Deadshot
Stats
In a fight such as this, stats are probably the least important aspect of the debate, but we’ll briefly go over regardless. Both of these guys are enhanced to some capacity, Deadshot with his cybernetic arm would certainly pack a punch, but so would Bullseye with his adamantium skeleton and murder instinct the more he kills people. Both are considered peak human (relative to their franchises since peak humans perform way more nutty things then real life peak humans do), but applying scaling, you find a decent range of numbers they’d scale too, but in a fight like this, stats hardly matter. Both Deadshot and Bullseye are deadly enough that on certain occasions, their formidable adversaries such as Batman and Daredevil have outright admitted that with one wrong move, they’d both be as good as dead, and their weapons in particular have harmed people far out of their caliber, especially those that are superhuman.
When it comes to speed, this also cancels out. In a fight where bullets rain and cards get flicked, it can be…a little odd to talk about the reaction speeds they would scale too, as both would more then likely get such as scaling from the people they’ve fought, and the faster than light reaction feats would more than likely cancel out as well. By individual feats, one could argue Deadshot is slightly faster in firing speed, due to his quick successions in taking out more than nine people at once, and reacting to superhumans that move on-foot faster than a speeding bullet such as Captain Boomerang Jr., and even Batman has admitted that Deadshot moves and shoots too fast for Batman to avoid his shots. Not to say Bullseye doesn’t have moments like these however, such as bypassing the super senses of Daredevil and other superhumans like Dakken with his projectiles, throwing them before they could react. Speed likely cancels out in reactions, but Deadshot is faster where it counts when it comes to how fast and how much he can fire at once, especially given bullets travel faster then projectiles.
Arsenal & Abilities
This is where things start to take a turn. The comparisons between these two can span across entire spreadsheets with their abilities, feats, and overall capabilities, so ultimately what will be gone over is what is considered most important, and will be categorized as things that cancel out, counters, or resistances.
Starting with more basic abilities, there are some things that both do pretty well to the point of completely canceling out. Starting with their weapons. In general, both have a majority of the same weapons, such as basic firearms, sniper rifles, and explosives. While Bullseye’s are timed explosives compared to Deadshot’s rockets, both have building level AoE if used, so the effects at large would at the very least cancel out, and it's not like Bullseye doesn’t have rocket launchers of his own. Deadshot’s grappling hook would also be good mobility to compare with Bullseye’s general acrobatics and agility.
Stealth is another thing that likely cancels out. Both have snuck up on master martial artists, so there isn’t really a moment where one could reliably sneak up on the other. And when it comes to how much pain they can endure, this one likely also cancels out. Both have been stabbed repeatedly, shot repeatedly, bones broken and kept talking, firing their weapons while bleeding, sonic arrows blowing through their ears, set on fire, spines broken, you name it. Generally speaking, both of these characters have been able to fight while in horrible conditions, and this will let them resist the other's arsenal, like Deadshot being able to resist a poison paperclip or keep firing if a throwing card slit his throat, but Bullseye’s adamantium skeleton could easily let him shrug off a headshot.
When comparing their most effective weaponry, what it would truly come down to is the comparison between Deadshot’s experimental laser rifle capable of destroying magnetic fields, his specialized magnesium charges and explosive ammo, compared to Bullseye’s botox dart and precise way of using any weapon he could find, since his arsenal really doesn’t stop at just guns. The laser rifle and explosive ammo would undoubtedly do damage beyond repair to Bullseye’s skin, but on the contrary, the botox getting into Deadshot’s skin would paralyze him and give Bullseye an easy enough opening to finish the job. These are the most effective weapons for securing a kill in the short run.
Let’s go over some other general wincons for both and funnel our way down beyond just general guns and weaponry. Starting with Deadshot, his armor is going to be very useful here in a variety of ways. Its bullet resistant material/helmet and backup guns provide survivability that would render pretty much any of Bullseye's weapons, even bullets, rendered useless as far as getting through it. Though Bullseye has impressively killed people with mundane objects, a majority of the time it has been dealt to people who are vulnerable, armorless, and generally defenseless or not looking, so something like an orange peel is not going to be bypassing armor that can tank bullets anytime soon. It's simply far too durable to be directly dealt with by anything Bullseye has, especially when lots of it is guns that are similar to Deadshots. The eyepiece would likely figure out the type of armor Bullseye would be wearing, and its infrared capabilities could likely figure out the skeleton
Speaking of, another wincon for Deadshot is the sheer damage dealing capabilities in his arsenal. His standard bullets have time and time again bypassed bulletproof armor and even hides from the likes of Killer Croc and Man-Bat. Bullseye’s own armor is able to resist heavy artillery fire and is stated to be over 30 layers of kevlar worth of protection. However, Deadshot’s ammunition has bypassed 70 layers of kevlar, along with armor that has been described as tankgrade, so these bullets will breach Bullseye’s armor despite its resistances due to being far more destructive and deadly. Even if you argue Bullseye tanking heavy artillery bullets would mean the bullets can’t get to the skin, Deadshot’s bullets on average have pierced bulletproof skin like Killer Croc or Man-Bat’s hide. Add to the fact that the wrist mounted guns have other options such as rockets or even lasers, and Deadshot will have plenty of more direct damage dealing options compared to Bullseye.
This being said however, Bullseye is not without his own wincons. Perhaps the biggest overarching advantage is that Bullseye’s arsenal is a lot less finite then Deadshots. Anything is a weapon to him, from a pebble to a paper airplane, and the environment can easily be drawn upon to continuously give him options, whereas Deadshot can run out of ammunition eventually. Another advantage is his pressure point combat. While Deadshot himself is very precise with what hurts the most where, Bullseyes can be applied up close and personal, as his surgical precision allows him to be more effective in breaking down an opponent, like slicing up Deadshot’s carotid artery to blow out the spinal cord, or targeting his elbow joints to make it harder to move his arms. If things get up close, it can get quite dangerous for Deadshot.
However, none of this is as important as the thing that makes this fight so debatable; who’s the better shot? Who’s got the tools to end the fight and control its pace better? When comparing the marksmanship feats both of these characters have, it is an insanely close call. And surprisingly, they pull off an insane amount of similar feats. Here is a list of everything that both can do to properly figure out what cancels out in terms of general marksmanship abilities:
Both can fire guns into rooms of people with their eyes closed
Both can disarm people of their weapons before they can react
Precise enough to bring down bigger targets such as helicopters and buildings with just one shot
Can do headshots, chest shots, knee shots, shoulder shots, bicep shots, and pretty much any shot to the body where necessary
Can fire weapons so well, they clash blow for blow with other skilled marksman (Deadshot and Deathstroke’s bullets have collided, and so have Bullseyes weapons and Hawkeye/Kate Bishop’s arrows)
Have done impossible shots such as;
Deadshot shot Amanda Waller to fake her death, which needed to be a very precise shot to Waller in the most repairable part of the heart to avoid explosive damage to the other areas, which he did
Bullseye shot a man on horseback through the eye with a rifle from over two miles away
Both can ricochet bullets
Both have shot through the seams of bulletproof power armor
Most importantly, both fire shots with surgical precision and knowledge of bodily autonomy with the intent of disabling or destabilizing, or just killing
There are a few things they have dealt with that are more unique to them however. For Deadshot, he’s shot objects mid-air such as bottles, Batman’s batarangs, and Green Arrow’s arrows. On the contrary, Bullseye seems to operate on far longer ranges, from a range of 500 yards to 2 miles. While you could theoretically argue Deadshot can cover a similar range due to also having long-ranged guns like sniper rifle, Bullseye has shown more outright examples of it, so he would have a bigger range, though in a fight such as this, they wouldn’t start or retreat to even over a mile if possible.
With such a blow for blow comparison, how can one argue Deadshot comes out the winner? Bullseye’s advantages are pretty spelled out, and while it may seem like Deadshot would be the one to slip up or fall short, there is merit to argue that he would be able to win this fight through a combination of a couple of things.
To argue for Bullseye to win, you have to argue one of few things; the first major wincon is Bullseye jamming the wrist-mounted guns or just any gun Deadshot has with him with his weapons, something he’s done to simple handguns before, which would then give Bullseye the ability to follow up and bombard Deadshot with weapons and eventually overwhelm him, especially in an opening quickdraw. The other wincon is the botox dart, which if used, would end the fight pretty instantly and give Deadshot no options to fight back. The latter wincon is more inarguable. While Deadshot has fought through his nervous system being friend before, he was still rendered unconscious for some time, something that won’t fly in a fight such as this. The former wincons however have some caveats.
First off, Deadshot would not be helpless if he lost a wrist-mounted gun or two. Deadshot comes completely strapped with weapons the same way Bullseye does with things like the sai or shurikens, and he would just be able to pull out more guns and continue applying pressure, especially with something like the laser rifle. The counterargument to this on the other hand is Bullseye would just simply keep disarming him of his weapons in some fashion and eventually leave Deadshot with little options. But this wouldn’t be the case due to two factors that correlate to Deadshot’s counter; what happens in the first shootout. Deadshot and Bullseye equal out in many ways when it comes to speed as mentioned earlier, but Deadshot beats out Bullseye in terms of what he can fire all at once, and how fast he can. While both generally cancel out in how fast they fire their weapons and how many senses they’ve bypassed, ultimately, one thing will be fired faster than the other; bullets will be far faster in travel speed then something like shurikens.
On top of that, Deadshot has reacted to batarangs and Green Arrow’s arrows, so he’ll easily be able to counterattack Bullseye’s throwable weapons, before pumping him full of leads, which would eliminate the potential for him to lose the wrist-mounted guns early on. And from there, Deadshot would have a much more clear opening, both in dealing damage and in precision. Deadshot would have enough time in that moment to figure out the skeleton problem, whether with the eyepiece or a few more bullets, and he has plenty of ammunition to further pump him full of lead, especially with far more destructive bullets like explosive ammo, which would damage Bullseye’s skin beyond repair if dealt to the head or organs like the heart or lungs, which are unprotected despite the skeleton, and Deadshot is precise enough to figure it out. Bullseye’s wincons are jamming the guns or using a bladed weapon to get through the armor’s defenses, but those are things Deadshot has dealt with plenty of times, and will be able to easily just shoot them out of the air before firing precise shots of his own, something that deals far more quick damage then Bullseye using any sort of weapon. And if you want to argue Deadshot recovering would bring plenty of openings for Bullseye, so would Deadshot. One is dealing more direct damage then the other, especially given bullets are going to be fired faster than a sai or a shuriken, so Bullseye would be in a similar state of reeling from the pain, giving Deadshot time to pump him full of lead since he’s fought through being shot and stabbed through the armor plenty of times.
The last wincon is Bullseye’s own ability to bypass Deadshot’s armor. While Deadshot’s bullet resistant armor would render Bullseye’s general arsenal moot, his more deadly weapons like blades or even his own guns would certainly be able to potentially breach the armor due to similar feats of breaching bulletproof armor like Moon Knight’s, but Deadshot is also experienced against this, being able to find the seams of power armor that is supposed to be bulletproof with just ordinary handguns.
Basically in the first shootout if it happens, Deadshot can easily react accordingly to any weapons thrown at him, and in turn, fire bullets into him as well since his wrist mounted bullets are specialized in bursting through bulletproof kevlar and tankgrade armor, which would easily go through the armor. While one can argue he has more ways to error due to exploitable places in his own armor, Deadshot is experienced enough with marksmanship to be able to counterattack Bullseye’s own shots, and Bullseye would also be in a similar position of having to pull out something to keep the pressure, and in that small window, Deadshot has the opening he needs to shoot him. And while he wouldn’t really be able to figure out the true nature of the skeleton, the bullets will still go through the skin, and if he sees that isn’t working, then Deadshot would simply go for the vital organs next, something he might open up with in the first place due to Deadshot consistently going for those shots to secure a kill, and while Bullseye’s pain tolerance is able to keep him in for longer then expected, it won’t keep him long enough for Deadshot to pump him with enough lead to eventually put him down, something that has happened before with much less bullets. The laser rifle and explosive rounds are also even more solid options to destroy his skin beyond repair, which if he sees normal bullets aren’t doing the trick, he’ll switch things up for a counterattack of his own, which would be more than enough to take out Bullseye, and things like the tar rounds are also supplementary ways to slow Bullseye down in quicker and more successful ways then vice versa.
Tertiary Factors
In terms of raw pure skill and smarts, neither has one clear advantage over the other, and in this general area things cancel out further. They’ve started their careers pretty sloppy in pure hand-to-hand combat, but over time were able to refine their methods and prove that they aren’t just good with a gun. They’ve trained with master martial artists such as Taskmaster and David Cain, and they themselves have kept up with such dangerous and powerful martial artists and superhumans like Moon Knight and Deathstroke, with Deadshot fighting the latter for five days straight without fault. Their experience against threats bigger and stronger than them means that they’re pretty dead even, but Bullseye on average fights in close quarters much more than Deadshot. Sure, Deadshot has fought in close quarters but lots of the time, he still is using his guns in close quarters compared to his fists, whereas Bullseye has done more of that to the point where he fought Daredevil and Elektra at the same time. He’s shown far more instances of doing it, along with the fact that his near surgical pressure points up close means that he is generally just more equipped to fight up close in more ways than one, so pure hand-to-hand slightly leans in Bullseye’s favor.
In terms of sheer smarts and tactics, both cancel out. They’re master tacticians and assassins, capable of firing shots no mortal man could ever do, and are capable of identifying problems or weaknesses in an opponent early on in order to line up the shots they need to win fights. They’re good under pressure and pain, good at setting up traps, willing to play dead or look injured/vulnerable, and won’t hesitate to secure the kill if they need to themselves. This overall comparison is a draw.
Conclusion
"Life has given me a unique perspective. Some of us are guns. Some of us are targets. And some of us are bullets. Waiting to be fired."
Advantages:
Comparable stats/speed & strength
Far better arsenal and technology on average
Much better in general and consistent aim with firearms
Specialized ammo such as tar rounds, explosive bullets, or incendiary shots are capable of securing a killing blow
Bullets should be capable of bypassing Bullseye’s armor
Infrared sight renders Bullseye’s stealth inefficient
Pain tolerance will let him resist being poison or have his throat slit by throwing cards
Laser rifle can also end the fight if needed
Relatively even in hand-to-hand…
Far faster firing speed, which lets Deadshot perform better in an opening shootout
Can shoot out Bullseye’s weapons out of the air due to experience against similar methods
Experience against speedsters would let him keep up with Bullseye in a hypothetical murder instinct scenario
Disadvantages:
Ammunition is more finite then Bullseye’s proficient usage of anything he gets his hand on
Bullseye’s experience of getting through body armor give him just as many ways to bypass Deadshot’s suit
Wrist mounted guns and eyepiece can be jammed or broken by Bullseye with a well-timed shot
The botox would be an instant wincon if used properly
…but Bullseye’s pressure points would give him a slight edge
Has no way of directly figuring out the adamantium skeleton
Overall, this is an insanely close fight, perhaps one of the closest street tier fights one can talk about. Their precision, accuracy, and timing are so near similar it's a close call to figure out who would be the one to end the fight, but Deadshot should be able to do this much quicker and more successfully. His experience in dealing with superhumans and projectiles in general will give him an edge in adapting to the type of fighter Bullseye is, and his methods of dealing damage are much quicker due to the amount of bullets he can fire into someone, and while his ammunition isn’t infinite, he certainly has enough to shoot Bullseye’s weapons out of the air, or fire to any vital point in the body in quick succession. While Bullseye’s own options can reach similar results, when it boils down to every comparison that cancels out, Deadshot’s options will be much faster, and the room for recovery is important in both. Bullseye’s pain tolerance would help him, but he’s still recovering from being shot, and his weapons not hitting anything will force him to take out more, much like Deadshot would in a scenario where he loses his wrist-mounted guns, all of which would feasibly take place in the first encounter and give Deadshot enough time to act accordingly or adjust his strategy, compared to Bullseye having to reel back from pain and get more weapons, something of which he himself has seen and even done on very rare occasions. His laser guns and explosive ammo can damage his skin beyond repair, and his piercing rounds on average will get through the armor and land fatal blows to vital organs due to Deadshot’s own precision on how to kill a man, something Bullseye very much is even with an adamantium skeleton. Though Bullseye was on point, Deadshot was always on target.
The winner is Deadshot.
Bullseye
Stats
As far as this aspect goes, it's mostly a non-factor. Both end up with the average numbers for the street crowds of their worlds, in several dozen kilotons of TNT. Granted, Deadshot scales to Adam Strange through Batman, which nets him about 77 kilotons, while Bullseye scaling to Deadpool is just over 30. Thus, Deadshot would be a bit stronger, but it’s not exactly a game changer for any real metric. Even beyond the metric of these numbers constantly shifting and making it so giving either in edge or AP or speed is debatable at best (which multiple people share), there are a litany of other factors to consider. First, Bullseye’s durability to physical strikes is something being stronger won’t exactly take care of, as proven when his tenacity and Adamantium Bones have enabled him to take on multiple heroes like Matt/Elektra at the same time, or his encounter with American Jack, who was much stronger than him, and aiming to torture him. While Bullseye obviously doesn’t scale to Jack given how the fight went, it’s still an example of how impressive Bullseye’s own durability is, to the point that Deadshot wouldn’t really be able to win that way. More importantly, both of their fighting styles are mostly reliant on weapons, which would ignore any strength disparity you believe in whatsoever due to both wielding several tools that can hit far outside their weight class. Both Deadshot and Bullseye have frequently wielded weapons that can harm much stronger foes, such as Deadshot’s best bullets working on a weakened Superman, or Bullseye’s knives cutting the skin of Ms. Marvel and Mar-Vell. Even their average bullets would still serve the same purpose, so across the board in pure strength and durability, they are fairly even, with their weapons ignoring these statistics entirely.
Now, that would then make this a quickdraw of sorts, in which both are pretty much even once more. The fastest street-tier characters in Marvel and DC are capable of similar feats, like dodging or reacting to Light, with the very best being capable of reacting in nanoseconds in Black Canary and Daredevil. Both Deadshot and Bullseye would most assuredly compare to this, as Black Canary is noted slightly inferior to Batman who Deadshot has matched, and Bullseye has repeatedly battled Daredevil (Duh). Further upscaling through their attack speed also mostly evens out, as each assassin has superhuman feats of quickdraws against several people. Not only have they gunned down nearly a dozen people before they could draw their own weapons to fight back, but also blitzed other speedy members of their heroic foes (Bullseye blitzing Daken with an arrow throw for example) and even earned statements that some of the fastest foes in their worlds would be dead and buried without supersenses (Deathstroke and Daredevil). As such, they can react at the same speed in a more close-quarters duel, and attack at the same speeds with similar examples. We could go over examples of comparison all day, but the underlying point is these assassins are practically even in stats, with any difference having another factor to make the comparison moot. Thus, let's turn to the arsenals they bring to the table to find out if either packs enough punch to overcome this draw.
Arsenal & Abilities
As master assassins and debatably the deadliest in their worlds, both parties here come to the fight packing some serious heat. To their credit, each of them carry roughly the same kind of gear in terms of guns. Both have pistols/handguns like revolvers, machine guns (AK-47’s, Uzi), laser-guided weapons (Handgun or Assault Rifle), rifles (sniper or assault), bazookas/rocket launchers, grappling hooks, and esoteric super-guns (Lasers for Deadshot and laser-guns/Sonic-Guns for Bullseye) that can at the least severely harm the other side should they land. For what doesn’t even out, Deadshot has his Wrist-Mounted guns that can’t easily be blasted off, which come with their own edges, like being capable of bursting through ribs to dislocate shoulders, their own other attack options in lasers, magnum charges, small missiles that can blow up buildings, etc, as well as other tools like a gatling gun. Comparatively, Bullseye only has a shotgun besides that, so pure technology in firearms would go to Deadshot due to the Wrist Guns.
Next up regarding firearms and weapons would be the overall potency of them as well as other examples of their main gear, which varies, as both can damage others far outside their normal stomping grounds. For Deadshot, he has various kinds of ammunition that can pierce through bulletproof skin and stagger people with kevlar armor like Batman. At their best, these bullets can pierce over 70 layers of Kevlar and blast through tank grade-level armor, with other armor busting examples coming from shooting through Deathstroke. Even greater are the high-velocity armor piercing shells that can stagger and damage Superman, which while he was weakened at the time, is still majorly impressive nonetheless. Similarly, he's also used a Elephant Rifle that can harm other foes on that level, like Cheetah. Cooler still are the other types of bullets he can use, like magnum versions, armor piercing, explosive or incendiary shots to add a kick to the bullets, and hot tar to gunk up your feet for immobilizing, should Lawton get the chance. At a most basic level, his cybernetic arm also adds some physical strength up-close.
Comparatively, Bullseye has many more weapons he uses besides firearms, like Playing Cards, Throwing Stars/Shurikens, Sai, Bladed Weapons (Knives, kunai, swords, scalpels, daggers), and etc. These can also harm much stronger foes, like Ms. Marvel, Mar-vell, and She-Hulk, or cut through high-tier Kevlar armor like Moon Knight’s. He’s also used other gear over the years, like various explosives (Claymore Mines, Explosive Boleadoras, etc), with his timed bombs being capable of destroying buildings. His Adamantium Skeleton amplifies his physical strength, akin to a Wolverine, and it also increases his durability to a degree as well. Other gear includes various assassin one-offs, like bolo to tie up people, a bow and arrow, darts, paperclips he can coat in poison, resin to mess with your senses (only really useful against enhanced senses folk like Daredevil), smoke bombs for sneak moves, and vehicles like an invisible bike or helicopter. Most impressively however is his usage of Botox, which instantly paralyzed the Punisher’s entire body for multiple minutes to the point that Bullseye could easily have killed him if wanted to
Against each other, both are somewhat even, with Deadshot slightly pulling ahead to a degree that it might as well be even. Both of their tools can bypass high-tier Kevlar armor, but Deadshot has more actual armor piercing rounds, as well as more destructive shots like explosive rounds, whereas Bullseye’s are more focused on technique as sharp objects reliant on accuracy. These are rather versatile in the Wrist Guns as well, with other shots besides bullets naturally on them like rocket launchers, though Bullseye has his own so it's mostly moot. Concerning explosives like these, both fighters have rocket launchers or bazookas for much more powerful shots, with each one having building wide Area of Effect, though Bullseye’s are through his timed explosives, which aren’t as easy to use as simply firing a rocket, though Lester does have up-close bombs like Mines or explosive boleadoras. On Bullseye’s end for this field, his overall arsenal is bigger, and more varied. His various kinds of projectiles besides guns make for great methods of keeping Deadshot guessing, like playing cards, and this extends to more miscellaneous tools, like Bola to tie him up or poisoned Paperclips. Granted, Deadshot is pretty tolerable to poison, but one thing he would not be able to counter is the Botox. As shown against Frank Castle, all Bullseye needs is one shot of this to paralyze Deadshot for multiple minutes, and more than enough time to kill him as a result. In terms of bodily enhancement, both can hit harder as a result of theirs, but Bullseye’s extends to his durability and covers the majority of his body, while Deadshot’s is reserved to his arm only. This also matters because Adamantium coating would make breaking Bullseye’s bones pretty much impossible, and thus shooting him to death more difficult. Overall, Deadshot has deadlier weapons at their best, along with more destructive and armor-piercing tools, but Bullseye has more unpredictable and varied gear, and matches Lawton in most other areas to the point that it’s not that big of a deal.
Finally for their arsenal, both have pretty impressive armor in order to not be shot to death given their reliance on guns. Deadshot’s armor is full-body, bullet resistant though not immune, his helmet also has an infrared scope that can identify materials on his foes, like the Kevlar in Batman’s suit, and he carries an extra gun in his boot should things go south. Bullseye’s mask is made of a 30-layer Kevlar Fiber-Glass Composite that can block bullets from distances away though not so much up-close, and he wears a Kevlar vest (technically unconfirmed what it is but it’s obviously very high-grade) under his suit that can ignore high-powered rifles, as well as protect him from other high-tech firearms that can seriously damage Spider-Man, albeit only once. His Adamantium Skull acts as a shield of sorts, and can block gunfire as a result, while he also carries plastic explosives in his gloves should the need arise for an unexpected tool. In comparison, both have some edges and disadvantages in this field. Deadshot’s armor covers more of his body for one, while Bullseye covers his vital areas like the head and chest. Both of their tools are more bullet resistant, but Bullseye has better armor from a pure durability standpoint. Deadshot’s helmet/armor is bullet resistant, not bulletproof, and regular guns have damaged or made notable marks on both. Bullseye’s have survived, albeit barely, high-artillery gunfire while still protecting him from it once, or just blocked other high-tier assassin bullets without getting damaged. His mask can also block bullets from distances away, but not up-close, so it mostly evens out, but his Skull also being Adamantium means a headshot isn’t likely to work. Bullseye takes the overall armor category.
Concerning their armor further, you may be curious on their methods for getting around said armor. Returning to their tools, both have examples of bypassing bulletproof armor (like Batman and Moon Knight’s for example), but Deadshot does have more methods of doing so. The main issue is that Bullseye has better baseline examples of this, in that his Knives outright pierced Moon Knight, while Deadshot’s average shots to Batman only staggered and broke parts of his armor without outright destroying it. His rockets hurt the bulletproof Closer, but didn't actually break through his skin. Deadshot can certainly mitigate this with higher ammo, which can pierce the bulletproof skin of foes like Killer Croc, as well as 70 layers of Kevlar and even tank-grade armor. Comparatively, Bullseye’s mask is an even 30, making it so Deadshot’s higher gear can get through the mask, though it wouldn’t get through the skull. Similarly, Bullseye’s chest armor blocked high-caliber bullets, meaning Deadshot would need to hit him with his best weapons to break through it. Similarly, the armor's own durability as well as its fire resistance would mitigate the explosion potency, and the Bones would further that. Another relevant factor is Deadshot scanning Bullseye via mask, and possibly determining his bones are Adamantium. Frankly, this won't work for a few reasons. Primarily, he has only shown scanning the material on your body, not actually in it. Even if he somehow could, he wouldn’t know what it is, nor gain any knowledge on how to capitalize off that.
Moving on to actual abilities, both have some fair examples. In terms of pain tolerance and stamina, both have pretty high showings, like shrugging off being shot, stabbed, zapped, burned, tortured (several hour long sessions), physical beatings, etc. For singular examples, Deadshot can fight on despite flashbangs/sonic arrow to ears, remain conscious after his nervous system is fried, and once had his legs/collar bone broken, internal injuries, electrocution multiple times, yet still had the energy to mock Slade. Speaking of, he also fought Slade for 5 days straight (among unrevealed context on required nourishment or sleep or etc) while also briefly fighting on after getting shot in the neck. For Bullseye only, he's shrugged off getting hit by vehicles without armor, gotten impaled several times at once by Hawkeye in several limbs, and been battered by much stronger enemies who are aiming to torture him by American Jack. Even more impressive, he has been beaten by an army's worth of thugs, was tortured for hours, then escaped while taking down multiple thugs and jumping between cars, then survived a car explosion followed by a gunshot. This does also concern his willpower, which has enabled him to push past irreparable spine damage in 18 months, which was a medically impossible feat.
In comparison, things do tend to align with Bullseye. Both have roughly the same level of pain tolerance overall, but are better/inferior in some areas. Deadshot has survived worse attacks at once (he was shot in the neck and Bullseye was stabbed by Elektra), though both were pretty quickly taken out of the fight in these examples. Both can shrug off insane physical debilitation that nobody else could, like Deadshot getting his nervous system fried or Bullseye getting repeatedly shocked with electricity that should’ve caused a heart attack. The issue is, Bullseye has better examples overall in both the length he keeps things up and the consistent leveling of them. Deadshot has never walked off getting hit by a truck and still fought people without his armor protecting him, and Bullseye has always been fairly resistant to physical trauma. His stamina examples also extend to just stamina in general, as while both have survived torture, Bullseye has done extensively hard tasks after the fact while dealing with those injuries, like escaping an army and surviving a car explosion. While Deadshot has fought for longer in the multi day example with Deathstroke, he wasn't getting injured much in this timeframe, and it's left open on details like if he slept or ate. Bullseye's own examples of pushing past pain are just better, and similarly, his willpower is also noticeably superior.
For stealth, both can sneak up on master assassins and snipers, but Bullseye is slightly better. They've snuck up on similar people, and Bullseye has some anti-feats here, but better overall feats. He can counter stealth attacks from people like Elektra, evade Matt’s senses to sneak up on him, or land projectiles he can’t see coming until it's too late. Regardless, both don’t use this too much so it's not that big of a deal. Finally, there's the matter of Bullseye’s Murder Instinct. Should it get accessed, it's very much a huge advantage for Bullseye. As he himself words it, it's as if all the disadvantages fall to the wayside, he becomes faster and stronger, and is fully in the zone. Should that come out in a fight where he needs to be at his best, that is obviously very detrimental to Deadshot. It being included here is debatable, as the wording does rely on him “killing” people, so at that point it's in the vein if you think Bullseye would be able to kill others during the fight, similar to Alex Mercer absorbing other people. Regardless, nothing really changes if he doesn't get to it, his chances are just significantly better if he does.
So, in an overall arsenal sense, it's mostly even, with both sides having their own edges. Deadshot has more body coverage in his armor, while Bullseye’s is more impressive from a durability standpoint, which his Adamantium Skeleton furthers in protecting his skull and bones. Deadshot’s gear here is noticeably better, but it is ammo and not all of his actual guns. He has to place these in his weapons or wield the ones that do in order to do meaningful and consistent damage. Deadshot does have more deadly options, like armor piercing rounds that can break through tank grade armor, and various explosive or incendiary shots. Going back to armor a bit given their own showings, they would be capable of piercing each other's armor. Bullseye can pierce kevlar with his knives and his guns/weapons overall can get through Deadshot’s armor which is only bullet-resistant, not bulletproof. Deadshot has armor-piercing rounds which can also get through either example of Bullseye’s armor, though his lower ones will not. Lester’s armor being fireproof and his surviving explosions before also diminishes the effectiveness of explosive shots. For other angles, Bullseye has more varied tools that can catch Deadshot off guard, better overall strength/durability enhancements through his bones, matching weaponry for a lot of Lawton's arsenal. For abilities, Bullseye has better stamina in pure examples of pushing past pain, and slightly better stealth. The Murder Instinct, should it come out, would better all of his chances and his chances.
In a broad sense, both have their own advantages and disadvantages here, where we will need to look at tertiary factors to round things out.
Tertiary Factors
Due to these legendary assassins being mostly technique based, it's only fitting here is where things really start to reveal Bullseye’s advantages. Before we get to more major fields, let's first discuss experience, skill, and intelligence. Both are for all intents and purposes the deadliest assassin in their world, have taken on multiple foes at once or fought master martial artists themselves multiple times, and have been fighting/training for most of their lives. Overall though this does tend to sway towards Bullseye. Both are noted to be less effective up-close, with some comics noting it as a weakness, but overall that doesn’t mean much and is proven untrue. The difference is Bullseye simply fights up-close much more often, and has tag-teamed people like Daredevil and Elektra at his best, whereas Deadshot holds no such example. If you said Deadshot fights more martially skilled foes, Matt has fought Captain America and Bullseye can consistently match him, as well as being in the same league as Red Skull by Cap’s admission who obviously fights Steve all the time. In all cases, Lester is simply more of a threat up-close, and much less reliant on his weapons than vice versa.
For intelligence, Lawton can rig up explosions and deduce why Superman was an imposter simply through attitude, or why Green Arrow wasn’t attacking due to being flashbanged earlier. At his best, he's even acted 2 steps ahead of Batman. On Bullseye’s end, he is a genius in messing with weaknesses, like using sound to take advantage of Matt’s senses, or using herbal gunk to make Old Man Logan's senses go haywire. Lester has figured out the path/tactics of teleporter to hit him, outplanned the Punisher to trick him into gunning down a mob, and is dubbed a brilliant manipulator by a criminal psychiatrist; shown when he goaded people there into attacking him to escape or took up role of master planner once. Once more, things side with Bullseye. Lester has more and better examples of using intelligence in combat to mess with his foes, like taking advantage of weaknesses (though he usually needs time or prior knowledge to actually take advantage of these mostly). He can deduce the tactics of a teleporter, has outplanned similar assassins to Deadshot to have them play into his hands before, and has been professionally dubbed a brilliant manipulator.
Now, for the more game changing elements. Starting off with the big one, let's talk about Marksmanship. Both have similar overall feats in this regard, where they are called the deadliest marksman and/or shot in the world, and that they never miss. They have matched shots with other marksmen (Deathstroke/Green Arrow and Hawkeye) while having experience shooting projectiles out of the air or catching them (Batman and Spider-Man), while Bullseye can also redirect shots with metal objects. Both can and have worked around bulletproof opponents to aim for vulnerable spots in the eyes. Their shots are frequently stated to annihilate their opponents if they didn’t have super-senses (Deathstroke and Daredevil). Both can hit impossible shots that nobody else on the planet can do, like a billion-to-one example from Bullseye’s side. Both can gun down hordes of people before they can fight back, deflect bullets from their gauntlets/objects, gun down rooms of people in an instant, and hit shots while blindfolded/not looking. Both can bounce objects/bullets off of walls easily, disarm people of their weapons easily, take down bulletproof foes in one attack, shoot objects so they crack into shards that still kill people (like glass bulbs for Deadshot), and are surgically precise with their shots (The Amanda Waller heart example for Deadshot and Bullseye’s own statement that he is surgically precise). Both can shoot/attack you in places to die or be knocked out instantly. With so many similarities, let's talk of their own distinct showings.
For Deadshot, he has shot at knees/hands to avoid killing or just to stop you from using them, shot the cables people swing on, and shown more examples of shooting projectiles like Batarangs out of mid-air. He can snipe cracks in power armor with one shot each, hit Firebugs wings after having his nervous system fried. shot the ceiling of a plane to split the whole thing in half, had his bullets ricochet to hit more people, and shot a bullet to damage armor, then a second one right after to break through it while in mid-air. For Bullseye, his shots are so fast and precise that normal men can’t predict the trajectory of his projectiles or dodge them, with Daredevil even saying/showing that even with precognition/enhanced senses like his Radar, he can’t always dodge in time. He’s also redirected shots from a cyborg sniper who can shoot gnat wings off 500 yards away in close-range rather easily, can throw coin rolls into machine gun muzzles to blow the weapons up, or attack the one vulnerable spot on someone's bulletproof armor within seconds of fighting him. He can also throw pretty much weightless objects, like splinters, sand grains, and snowflakes, disarm gunmen with a broken pencil which then bounces off said pistols for an attack, and the halves of the pencil bounce off the guns to scar the cheeks of both men as another attack. His ricochet can also bounce off several separate walls to trap a teleporter and land a hit on him, with Bullseye also being able to instinctively throw objects where they break from being shot at to actually harm the target. Most impressively, he can consistently graze or hit Daredevil despite his radar sense, and can even hit accurate targets from 2 miles away.
Directly compared, it is fairly debatable, but the edge should ultimately go to Bullseye. Both are basically even in every category here. More important advantages are Deadshot having experience shooting projectiles out of the air like Batarangs, which could be useful against Bullseye’s projectiles like cards, though Bullseye has done the same thing against other foes like Hawkeye. Overall, it's more miscellaneous traits that truly decide it. Bullseye ricochets projectiles more and has implemented strategy into it to trick people with powers/abilities over him. His surgical precision also matters more in regards to later skill terms. Both can shoot objects so they break and kill enemies for them, but Bullseye has done this via attacking, as in he threw objects that broke upon being intercepted to kill people as the real attack, meaning Deadshot trying to shoot his projectiles would be more detrimental than good. Both have majorly impressive statements that they can hit faster opponents or people with enhanced senses through their shots, but Bullseye has the angle of Matt stating even his radar sense can’t always protect him from it and he still gets hit, whereas Deathstroke can normally dodge all of it thanks to his super-senses (IE: Bullseye can still hit people despite this advantage more frequently). He also has more examples of bypassing armor entirely, or blocking/reacting to shots in close range from similarly overpowered snipers without much trouble. His shots do tend to be slightly crazier overall as well, as while Amanda’s heart shot or tearing a plane in half are ludicrous, Bullseye can accurately throw and kill with objects weighing nothing and being smaller than a pebble. He has also made longer shots, like the horseback one from 2 miles away, so it stands to reason he does have the better examples at their best. Both can make ludicrously precise shots so that is roughly even, but overall the advantages do tend to align with Bullseye.
For other Fields, in tune with accuracy, let's cover anatomy and precision, which is one of Bullseye’s greatest advantages. Granted, Deadshot is versed in it enough to prolong his bleeding out for days, but Bullseye is undoubtedly better. As mentioned earlier, Bullseye’s attacks hit with surgical precision, and he has extensive knowledge on the human body to kill or incapacitate it as quickly as possible. This includes jamming your finger through your ocular orbit, splitting a man’s jugular open, slicing up your carotid artery to blow out our spinal cord at the cerebral cortex (with him also mentioning aiming for the CA anyway to kill someone anyway), etc. This also extends to skillful applications as well, which is even better for Lester.
He’s hit nerve centers with ranged objects to instantly knock out Daredevil, weaponized nerve clusters to leave someone in tremendous pain, and aimed for vital areas like eyes or the jugular with casual shots. He’s also snuck up on Jack Flag to jam a blade through the Vertebral Canal of his spinal column to destroy his Cauda Equina; making it so he is instantly paralyzed/never able to walk again. Furthering this are his many examples of quickly and efficiently going for weak spots in general, of which he is VERY successful. Bullseye has unleashed blows on the weak points/elbow joints in Penance’s armor, casually dropped knives off of bridges to wreck Quake’s arm gauntlet, threw darts into legs despite armor to shut off movement in them, etc. Most importantly, he’s also thrown knives in a singular vulnerable spot to enemy armor, and stabbed through the gauntlets/harness of a woman specifically to shut off her powers and rid her of her weapons.
Against Deadshot, this is EXTREMELY useful in getting around his armor entirely, or incapacitating him through it like he’s done to others before. He’s frequently gotten around armor with it, and that means he’s always able to use methods to weaken, stop, or kill Deadshot from close or long range. This really lends Bullseye a whole new litany of advantages that Deadshot just doesn't have answers to. His many examples of utilizing nerve combat make it so any time spent up-close is an opportunity to paralyze any of Lawton's limbs and make it even harder for him to counterattack, while he can capitalize at any time. For getting past the armor, Bullseye has several examples of doing just that to foes with similar body coverage, in one shot no less, meaning the armor can't stop him in any metric. This even extends to stopping his weapons, as Bullseye has thrown objects into machine guns to destroy them, and specifically targeted gauntlets or otherwise to shut off enemy powers, meaning he's more than capable of taking Deadshot’s primary tools off the playing field in his arm gauntlets. Granted, he has more weapons to pull out, but the underlying issue is all of these are practically impossible to defend against, and even having just one limb or weapon taken care of forces Deadshot to alter his strategy to cope with the loss, while Bullseye himself capitalizes without such problems or vulnerability.
Next up would be firing speed, in which both are practically even. Both have matched other extremely fast individuals in attack speed, where Deadshot hit Boomerang Jr, and Bullseye hit a teleporter through strategy or got past Daredevil’s super-senses. They’ve also gunned down hordes of people before they can blink or counter, and have blitzed other street tiers with their shots. Bullseye has done this with his regular weapons besides guns as well, so they won’t really be faster to any meaningful degree, brainrot as it is. This inherently means both can get off their shots at a similar speed to each other, so neither really edges out in this category. Relevant factors to bring up are the notion that Deadshot firing a gun is easier than Bullseye pulling out a weapon. That train of thought is somewhat odd, as both have to raise their hands and use said weapons effectively the same way, making their actual movement speed roughly even. Assuming you still think Deadshot pulling a trigger is easier, Bullseye has guns as well, and this is assuming he doesn't already have a weapon in his hands or vice versa, and it doesn't mean much all things considered given how even they are. Although; Bullseye does have more examples of closing the gap through this blitz as well, like with Deadpool.
For the final three major categories, let's discuss Weapon Mastery, Resources/Ammunition Stock, and their Weaknesses. For the first angle, it's pretty simple, and Bullseye’s advantage without question. Deadshot can fight off warriors with empty guns, but Bullseye is, well, Bullseye. His entire thing is weaponizing anything, and he’s never really out of attack options or means to surprise Deadshot due to this. Even from a general battle standpoint, Bullseye’s attack options being so varied make it so he can set up and unleash strikes so unpredictable that Deadshot would simply be baffled, as he’s never met someone capable of killing with a literal snowflake, let alone any rocks, utensils, or other objects Bullseye has killed with over the years. This does tie into Ammo reserves as well, where Deadshot does have more ammo and firearms, but will still run out the longer things go. Bullseye can weaponize anything, and has several weapons besides guns, so he’s always going to last longer. This extends to disarming or otherwise, as Bullseye is less reliant on his on-hand weapons and can grab more from the environment. Comparatively, Deadshot is objectively less effective without his weapons, meaning Bullseye is better suited for the short or long game.
Finally, we have weaknesses, or rather the areas both can exploit. Ultimately, this is close, but once more leans Bullseye. Deadshot’s ammo will eventually run out, and even then he’s less of a threat without his weapons. He is reckless and has suicidal tendencies at times, as well as getting jumpy enough to act on pure reflex, which people like Dick Grayson have taken advantage of. Bullseye is also apparently worse at close-range, and also gets arrogant at times, even purposely missing shots on occasion to prove superiority to others. Despite both their drawbacks, Bullseye is much better off here. While both are “worse” in close-range, even though actually very skilled, Bullseye has better examples of this and does it more consistently, and is much less reliant on his weapons. He can take advantage of this by shutting off or blowing up Deadshot’s weapons, which he has done with mundane weapons before like coin rolls. From personal angles, both can get reckless and/or arrogant, but Bullseye’s examples mostly stem from Daredevil or Elektra specifically, and in proving himself better than people he personally has a vendetta against. Deadshot’s come from actual suicidal tendencies, which is a much more detrimental thing in a fight to the death. His getting jumpy on pure reflex is also something Bullseye can take advantage of if it happens.
So overall, despite their matching each other in prior examples, Bullseye ultimately has the edges he needs to prevail here. While Marksmanship is practically even, he has ultimately performed crazier and longer shots at the end of the day. Experience and skill are similar, but Bullseye simply has more impressive examples of hand-to-hand, and is much more impressive when weapons are laid to the side. His experience in deflecting shots from super snipers, ricochet plays against foes to catch them off-guard, and slight edge in regards to super-senses relative to their shots means his are ultimately just a bit harder to dodge. Both can hit each other's shots out of the air, but Bullseye has thrown objects so they break upon being shot to still hit their target, meaning Deadshot shooting a random knife won't be enough to stop the attack. Further categories, like weapon mastery, ammo consumption, and weaknesses all have Lester in more favorable positions, both in the short or long run. Most importantly, Bullseye has extensive experience getting past armor just like Deadshot's, helping him attack even if it's somehow too tough for him to shoot through, while also adding his surgical anatomy attack methods onto that list. Through those skills, Bullseye can cause Deadshot severe pain, paralyze any of his limbs, or knock him out instantly, which makes him a sitting duck in virtually any of those scenarios. He has extensive experience getting past armor or shutting off weapons the second things start, and this nullifies one of Deadshot’s biggest advantages while making it even easier for him to take advantage.
Tertiary Factors overall go to Bullseye
Conclusion
Advantages:
Matches in speed and strength (including attack and firing speed for weapons), while having greater durability and pain tolerance
Has better armor, which can shrug off a good deal of Deadshot’s firearms and explosions
His adamantium skeleton protects from headshots or his bones breaking
Matches Deadshot in most of his arsenal (firearms, bombs, grappling hooks, etc), and can pierce Deadshot’s armor with the majority of his tools or bypass it entirely with his accuracy and many examples of getting past armored foes
Is ever so slightly the better marksman, with him making crazier shots from further away overall and having better examples of trickshots that would catch Deadshot off guard
Can throw projectiles that strike targets as a result of being broken, mitigating Deadshot shooting them out of the air before they land, as that would result in his being hit anyway
More skilled up-close despite similar experience, and his surgical attack methods can destroy Deadshot's weapons or paralyze his limbs, let alone knock him out or cause extreme pain to instantly turn things to his favor
Is smarter overall, and has a much better track record in exploiting weaknesses
The Botox is an instant-win if it lands
Murder Instinct would further all of this and make him harder to fight
Has more weapons besides guns to keep Deadshot guessing
Less vulnerable weaknesses
Disadvantages:
Less armor-piercing methods, and Deadshot's stronger gear can definitely get around his armor
Has less overall destructive or versatile gear (such as the Wrist-Guns), and has less ammo for his actual firearms
Explosive and incendiary bullets are still rather powerful, even if his armor can shrug them off well enough
His armor can be scanned and potentially worked around by Deadshot
Infrared negates stealth
Deadshot can resist his poison to a degree
Into cosplay and roleplay to the point that he and Daredevil thought they were each other while dressing up as each other??? (Seriously this issue is an Acid trip)
At the end of the day, this fight is practically dead-even in nearly every angle, to the point that you can argue either way depending on how you simply debate in vs. However, the underlying advantages tallied up all lean towards Bullseye. Physicality is either matched or a non-factor, same with things like attack speed or how fast they can shoot. They have similar arsenals, with Deadshot having more destructive tools and several armor piercing methods, while Bullseye has more overall tools besides guns that Lawton won't easily see coming. Deadshot's armor covers more of his body, but Bullseye's is proven more durable and resistant to gunfire, while he can pierce Deadshot’s own with the majority of his weapons, unlike vice versa. His “abilities” end of the deal is better, as he has consistently better examples of pushing past ludicrous pain over a fight and hanging on when the chips are down, such as escaping an army after being jumped by them and tortured. His Adamantium Skeleton is a major advantage, as it protects him from headshots for the most part, and his bones from being broken. The Botox is particularly useful, as just one shot with it would leave Deadshot paralyzed and helpless to counterattack.
For the tertiary factors, experience and skill are pretty much matched, but Bullseye is the better fighter at both of their best, and that includes without weapons. He is also smarter professionally and combatively, with much more examples of taking advantage of weaknesses than vice versa. His attack options will always last longer thanks to being able to weaponize whatever he wants, which makes him all the more unpredictable to Deadshot. Marksmanship is similar nearly even for the most part, but Bullseye has made crazier shots, from further away no less, and blocked shots from similarly deadly snipers in close range before, with ricochet plays being another method of taking the lead. Both have hit enemy shots out of the air, but Bullseye's thrown projectiles have been used to break upon being attacked, meaning they'd still hit Deadshot despite that initial shot. Even their weaknesses are more in Lester's favor. His biggest advantage though is the many means and methods of getting around or destroying Deadshot’s armor and guns, making it so his primary defenses are fairly useless. Through that, he can incapacitate Deadshot's limbs, knock him out instantly, or paralyze him with a good stab just like Jack Flag thanks to his surgical precision. All of that places Deadshot at a severe disadvantage, while Bullseye himself only gains more advantages. At the end of the day, only one man would land his Bullseye, and when it comes to Lawton? Well, his chances were shot.
The winner is Bullseye.

Next Time…
So this took way too long to come out, even for blog standards. This is what happens when we join other blogs and deal with personal life stuff. But Amalgam is not getting canned after this mess of a blog. We decided to take a break for at least 2 months since it will be the holidays and a good amount of us are a bit out of it for comic blogs at the moment, along with being on many other projects. When 2 or more months pass, we will continue working on Amalgam Blogs. We did make some changes to the order and what we want though, primarily due to losing interest in certain ideas from the people of Amalgam, so the next match is something that is long overdue for a blog…

ReplyDeleteLove how comprehensive this is! I already wanted this matchup to become a DB but now I want it even more seeing how close it is.
